JOHANNESBURG (Reuters) – South Africa’s National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) has signed a three-year wage agreement with Kumba Iron Ore, the labour group said on Thursday.
NUM said the lowest basic salary will increase by 18 percent to 6,833 rand ($640) effective July 2014. The basic salary would rise to 7,516 rand and 8,192 rand in year two and three respectively.
