Disillusioned by Musk's controversial direction, including his "civil war is inevitable" comments, X's user base has significantly declined, with UK active users dropping by a third. Bluesky, known for its cosy echo chamber atmosphere, is becoming a favoured space for media professionals and academics, echoing the early days of Twitter. However, the shift highlights a deepening divide in social media, ironically driven by Musk's initial warnings about such splintering.
