The earth is slowly being suffocated by plastic pollution, so initiatives such as Woolworths encouraging consumers to buy non-plastic bags is a great start.
The catch, they come at a higher price. Consumers need to be educated on their responsibilities and despite their initial ‘splurge’ it is also the right thing to do, perhaps that will help the tough sell.
But my question is this … why not cut plastic bags from circulation now rather than waiting another two years? Plastic should no longer be an option.
