The world is changing fast and to keep up you need local knowledge with global context.
Working remotely on copper is not easy. Even at maximum speed, video communication is sometimes erratic, which is a must have with colleagues around the globe.
So when Fibrehoods came knocking on the door, it was time to switch. The reason it hadn’t been done earlier was because Telkom Fibre wasn’t available in the area.
But it’s incredible what a bit of competition will do. Fibrehoods is an above ground service, and it wasn’t long before the ground was being dug up by, you guessed it, Telkom appointed technicians.
And now as both come on stream, not only is an upgrade available but there’s choice.
One wonders if government is taking note, a little competition never hurt anyone, it actually made the playing fields a lot more progressive.
