Running a budget is controlled by two levers, income and costs.
So when government suggests airport name changes, one has to assess the input.
Plans to change one, Cape Town International, may cost an estimated R20m – and government wants to change four in total; including East London, Port Elizabeth and Kimberley.
Simple mathematics puts the total spend at around R80m. Surely it can be spent better elsewhere and where is the money coming from?
