To Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan

As they say if you want something done give it to someone who is busy and it will be done. In your case I am so sure that you are very busy as the whole of South Africa is now relying on you to save us from a very delicate financial position.

There is no question that our country desperately requires investment and if we do not create development projects we will slip further down the slippery slopes to junk status. There should be other Ministers in the Government looking after and promoting investment in our country like Minister Rob Davies but this does not appear to matter to him or his office the department of Trade & Industry.

Then there are the other more specific Ministers and their departments like Minister Jeff Radebe head of Operation Phakisa, development projects to create jobs and stimulate our economy. Minister Tina Joemat-Petterson, Minister of Energy, a department that clearly requires more funding and development. The Industrial Development Corporation, directly involved in stimulating project development with Government Funding.

Why my open letter to you, well our group has offered direct foreign investment to South Africa for Infrastructure Development Projects in the ratio of 5/1 investment, not a loan but direct investment. I initially started approaching various Local Government and National Government, in August 2015 offering investment for projects and now 9 months later no department has shown any real interest in this investment opportunity.

Why do I say that it does not seem to matter to these Ministers, well in the past 9 months after writing and phoning these departments including your department, none of these departments have even bothered to respond or make contact with me.

There is often talk in the press about projects, but what is actually being done to stimulate and fund these projects when a potential investor is treated with contempt.

Mr Minister I ask you are we serious about wanting investment and do we really intend to create new infrastructure projects in South Africa, to create jobs and stimulate the economy? Does our country have so much spare cash that we do not require outside investment?
