As below zero weather hit London yesterday, someone told me that on the day it was colder in the UK than Alaska. Not sure if that was fake news, but the icy weather did remind me of advice I recall hearing from the Sage of Omaha at one of those Berkshire Hathaway AGMs.
This was one of those days I really felt like playing hooky from commitments that required spending fairly long periods in the open air. But didn’t. Because one of the most valuable assets we can possess, Warren Buffett reckoned, is simply being reliable.
It’s one of those things so much easier said than done. Just showing up sometimes requires enormous effort. But consistency delivers huge dividends. As followers of this simple principle can attest.
