Democrats think they've finally got enough evidence to get rid of Republican President Donald Trump on impeachment. In a nutshell, they are accusing Trump of violating the US Constitution by enlisting the help of a foreign country in interfering with the prospects of an election rival. Impeachment is the process by which a standing US official is formally charged with "Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanours", according to The Telegraph. President Bill Clinton was impeached – or charged – for lying about the Monica Lewinsky affair but was acquitted. Some commentators do not expect Democrats to succeed in impeaching Trump because there would be resistance in the Senate, which is controlled by the Republican Party. – Jackie Cameron
