Accountability lost – Fill those suitcases please…
It then can’t surprise anyone that this type of lack of accountability has corroded public respect for both business and political leaders.
Just picture this, you walk into a bank with two empty suitcases. You then ask the banker to fill them up with R200 notes, which according to a well-known forensic sleuth equates to R2m in cash.
One would typically think (given my intro) that this is a case of daylight robbery, but in ABSA land, no call was made. The total amount taken out in this case over a period equated to around R37m.
If this didn't raise eyebrows to anyone or all involved, then I'm not sure what will.
