It was masked as load reduction towards the end of last year but it’s taken Eskom less than two weeks of the new year to bring back load shedding.
And the picture the power utility has painted doesn’t point to a pleasant future.
Despite the local economy stuttering to a Covid halt, the three-month forecast shows Code Red for load shedding every week.
So what happens when the economy gets going again and winter arrives?
