Listeriosis death toll tops 200, including over 80 babies

The listeriosis outbreak that has its origins at a Tiger Brands factory has now claimed over 200 lives. As of last week, the death toll for the outbreak stood at 204, at least 80 of whom were babies. Babies were the hardest hit by the outbreak, accounting for over 400 of the 1033 listeriosis cases the NICD identified.
